History – Hosiery from the Lap of a Hat-Making Family

The Crönert brand was founded from the lap of a hat-making family. The son of the hat maker noticed the declining demand for hats in his father’s decreasing sales. At the same time, he recognized the demand for hosiery. Trusting his good instincts, he founded the Crönert company in 1949. With the establishment of the first store in Hamburg, the new company was so successful that by 1966 a company in Italy was opened. This positioned Crönert close to the Italian hosiery industry in Brescia and the fashion world of Milan. This benefited the cooperation with Italian partners. Since then, Crönert has continuously developed and improved. In 2015, the brand joined the German Wünsche Group. Today, Crönert is already run by the second generation and is one of the most well-known hosiery manufacturers in Europe.
